I think Angelou wanted to teach us many things from this story. The one thing that really stuck out to me was her perseverance through the everyday obstacles she had to face. What must've been her first obstacle was her thoughts. She must've put a lot of thought into wanting to get a job and come out of college. For anyone that would be a hefty task, but especially for someone like Angelou at this time. One external conflict she had was with the clerk. Although the clerk was giving Angelou an attitude, she remained calm and kept her emotions in check. She even referred to their conversation as "Hamlet and Laertes in the final scene".This shows me that Angelou didn't think anything of the conversation and just moved on. Another way Angelou showed her resilience against segregation was her work ethic. Her bosses had her working some extreme hours like early in the morning or late at night. Even with this unreasonable punishment she kept the job for as long as her body could allow her. Angelou's perseverance is truly inspirational. Even with her gone she still touches hearts to this day.

Angelou wanted to teach us a variety of things. I think the main thing she taught us was to work hard and never give up on our dreams. Angelou had to face many obstacle in order to get her dream job. She had to convince her mom that it would be a good idea and that she will succeed at getting the job. This would also be very difficult for Angelou at this time because of segregation. A conflict Angelou had to face was with the clerk. The clerk was being very rude to Angelou. Besides this Angelou was being very respectful and not being rude back. This shows that Angelou has respect for people and is mature. When Angelou finally got her job she didn't like it all that much. Angelou was given a lot of hours. She had to work either really early in the morning or really late at night, But even with this hours she kept going. Angelou teaches people to never give up till you succeed.

Maya Angelou tried to teach us many things in this story. The most important was to always keep trying and never give up. The first example of this in the story was when she was trying to convince her mother the let her drop out of school to become a railway bus conductor. This must have taken a lot from Angelou to decide to do this for her family. Another example from the story was the incident with the clerk. Although the clerk was being rude to Angelou she kept calm and respectful. Angelou continued to push the clerk for a job application and finally got it. Another example from the story was when she finally got the job, her bosses gave her very tough working hours. She would either have to work early in the morning or late at night. However, Angelou stuck with it and continued with the job. Maya Angelou has taught us many things and will continue to through her many works.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us many things through this story. I feel her main point she wanted to teach us was to not give up on what we believe in. Maya Angelou's mother did not support her idea of becoming a conductor for a streetcar and wanted her to focus on education. Angelou went against her mothers belief and still focused on becoming a streetcar conductor because it was her desire. Angelou also faced a situation of segregation where in the railway station to become a streetcar conductor they would not give her the job. Maya Angelou knew the reason they would not give her the job but she did not give up she continued to persistently go to the railway company and apply until they accepted her. The last thing she encountered was extreme work hours due to racial prejudice where she had to work extremely early in the morning and very late at night. Angelou worked through these hours and did not give up until she began to dislike the job. She then acquired her original focus and followed what her mother had said and worked on her education. Maya Angelou showed in "Occupation Conductorette" that you should always work for what you believe in to succeed.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us a variety of things throughout this story. One of the main things that she taught throughout the story was to be persistent. During the story, Angelou wants to be a street car conducturotte. She wants this despite her mom's wishes for her to stay in school and further her education. She also goes against societies standards for people of an African American background. Another thing that she taught us in this story, is to always maintain your composure. In the story, when she first goes to apply for the job, the clerk was rude and disrespectful to her. Not once did Maya say anything rude to the clerk. When Angelou finally got the job, she realized it wasn't her dream job. Her bosses had given her extremely rough, long, hard hours at all times of the day. They had done this because of her racial background. Despite this Maya Angelou stuck with the job as long as she could. In the end, it proved to be to much for her and she quit. Throughout this story, Maya teaches us to never give up on our dreams despite what people say.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us to never give up, and to fight for your dreams. Maya Angelou wanted to be a conductorette and skip a year of school. She was denied the job at first, but didn't take no for an answer. She then fought for the job and didn't give up. She was being discriminated because of her race, but that didn't stop her. She fought until she got the job. She is tying to show us that if you fight for your dreams, then you can succeed.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us about the struggles she faced in the story. The most important lesson she taught was to never give up on perusing your goals even tho there are many obstacles in your path. The first example she told about was how she tried to convince her mother to drop out of school to work as a street conductorette. This took Maya some time to see how her decision would benefit for her family. Another example of conflicts she faced was racism, a clerk was being prejudice towards Maya but she remained calm and respectful. She kept trying to give the clerk her job application after a few times of pushing the clerk to get a job she finally got the job. Maya's boss gave her long hours and very little pay, she worked early in the morning and sometimes late at night. Maya Angelou taught us from her experiences about the hard times, but the most effective lesson she taught was to work for your goal no matter what stands in your way.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us all of the conflicts she faced in her story. I think that one of the most important things she wanted to teach us was that you need to work but never give up. The first example is that she tried to convince her parents get the job as a conductorette in San Francisco. She told her parents that she will succeed to get the job. The Second example is that she had an issue with the clerk because the clerk was being very rude. But, Angelou was acting calm and respectful because she wanted to show how bad she wanted the job. Then she finally got the application from the clerk. Also it was even harder to get the job because of segregation. The last example of the story was that when she go the job she was working hard hours. She either was working early in the morning or late at night. Maya Angelou taught us that if you have a goal work for it and never give up no matter what obstacles are in your way.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us the importance of fulfilling ur dreams and to never give up trying. In this story, Maya wanted to become a conductorette but in order to do that, she would have to drop out of school. Her mom at first was not in support of her idea but when time went by, she supported her daughter in every way she could. Maya would have a hard time becoming a conductorette because of racism in that era of time. She would never give up and her efforts would pay off as she became a conductorette. But it wasn't a happy ending though as the shifts she would get would be the worst shifts. Those shifts were either late at night or early in the morning. This story taught me to never give up in what your trying to achieve no matter how bad the circumstances are. The hard work will pay off in the end when you accomplish that dream you had all of your life.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us that we should never give up on our dreams. She wanted to become a conductorette. Since racism was a major problem back then, she was not able to get the job. She was then determined to get that job no matter what it took. She went and got the application and completed every test she had to take. She eventually became the first African American to get a job as a conductorette. She's telling us to follow our dreams no matter how hard things seem to be. She believes that no one should ever give up.

In the nonfiction narrative Occupation Conductorette Angelou wants us to know that the truth is that racism, segregation, and inequality does still exist. A example of how racism was a effect in this story was that when Marya told her mother she wanted to be a conductortte her mother said that no African americans are hired to be conductorettes. A example of segragation is at the end of the story when eventually got the job she was made to work far more hour than other people and at more ridiculous hours. Another example of inequality is that Marya was denied or put offservice because the secretary said her boss "wasn't in" and that she couldn't fill out application without talking to her boss. That is what I believe Angelou wanted to tell us in the story Occupation Conductorette.

In my opinion.Maya Angelou teach me lot of things. She wants to tell us never give up your dream even it is hard to be true.I admire her indefatigable perseverance. Because she wanted to go to university, to find a job.And these are difficult in that time, she needs to pay more efforts than others to achieve. Her in case of conflict also can remain calm, this let me understand should always be in control of their emotions. On the other hand, as a racial discrimination, let me admire her courage.I can't imagine her in that hard work environment is how to insist on down. Her boss often arrange her work in the morning or late at night, and take to her unreasonable punishment. So i believe those is what Maya Angelou wanted to told us in the story.

I strongly believe that Maya Angelou wanted to teach us all many things from this nonfiction narrative. One of her characteristics that stuck out to me the most is her perseverance of wanting to get her first job. Despite Angelou being discriminated against and not getting the job she wanted, she pushed through and after a long period of time she got what she wanted even with people telling her she couldn't do it. Maya had so many obstacles in her way such as trying to convince her mom about getting the conductor job she wanted, facing the extremely rude store clerk, and trying to move on past the segregation going on at this time. She kept her emotions in check with the store clerk, being nice back even tough he wasn't which shows to me how mature and how much class Angelou had. Her confrontation with the rude clerk is one of the external conflicts in the story. Maya finally got that job she wanted and she ended up hating it to her surprise. Even though Maya disliked the job, her mom told her to keep going because she got what she asked for, and she did just that. Even though Maya Angelou has passed, she is still a huge inspiration to many today and showed that if you want to do something in life, you can and work at it with all your heart!

Angelou wanted to teach many things. The main thing she taught was that you can accomplish your dreams if you work hard. Angelou went through many challenges to become a conductorette. One of the challenges Angelou had to overcome was that there was segregation. An example of this was when she met the secretary. The secretary was very disrespectful to Angelou even though Angelou was being very respectful. This shows that Angelou is very mature for her age. When she finally got the job, Angelou didn’t enjoy it as much as she had hoped. She worked a lot of hour’s day or night. Despite the horrible hours, she did not give up right away. She teaches people to never give up no matter what. This is why she was very successful in her life.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us different things that she went through when she was young. First Maya Angelou wanted to teach how big racism was back then. An example was when she was trying to get a job as a conductorette but was unable at first because the clerk was trying to give different excuses like her manager being out today prenting Maya from getting the job. The other thing she wanted to teach us is that there is some people you can count on to help you. In the story Maya Angelou mother encouraged her to do her best I getting the job and then later help her get the job giving her a job application form. Another reason she wanted to teach is that it's good to work hard to accomplish your goal so you will be happy in the future. Like Maya Angelou in the story worked very hard to get her dream job but she was made to do crazy shifts so she left her job. This story Maya Angelou tought many things in her story.

In this story, Angelou wanted to teach us a lot of things. The biggest thing to me was to work hard at everything you do, no matter big or small. When she was trying to get her job, she was faced with a lot of troubles. Including making her mom think that it would be a good idea to stop going to school and getting a job. Also by overcoming the racism that was around in her time. One of the conflicts that she had to face was with the clerk. The clerk wasn't respecting Angelou but Angelou always respected her. Eventually Angelou got the job. Which led to her realizing that it wasn't the dream job that she expected it to be. She had a terrible working experience because of her racial differences from the boss. For a while Angelou stuck with the job. But in the long run she quit because she couldn't take it.

Maya Angelou wanted us to learn to never give up on your dreams despite the challenges you must face. Examples of this statement is how she wanted to prove that she can be self-sufficient and independent by getting a job. The first two jobs had certain requirements she did not meet, the remaining job was a streetcar conductorette. Her mother's first reaction to her decision was to say that "they don't allow colored people on streetcars" as an attempt to protecting her daughter from racial discrimination and prejudice encounters. Eventually she allowed her to try and encouraged her as well. Her mother was right though, Maya Angelou did have to face some challenges relating to obvious reasons in her time. She wanted to prove that she can get the job, she wanted to prove that there's nothing a person can't do.

In the story occupation conductorette angelou is trying to show everyone that with a strong work ethic and desire you can accomplish anything. An example is this when her mother tells her that the conductorrets do not hire african americans. Angelou does not listen to her mother and follows what she wants. This show a great amount of desire. When angelou goes to the conductorrtte place to get a job they secretary asks if she from the agency. A example is when The secretary said they were only excepting peole from the agency. This does not stop angelou it even makes her more determined to get the job. Angelou also shows a tremendous work ethic when she get the job. She is given crazy hours during the night and early in the morning but she works through it beacuase this is what she truly desires.

The truth that I think Maya Angelou wants us to learn from Occupation Conductorette is that you can get mostly anything I you work hard for it, but people will try to stop you or try to get you to do something better. Since Angelou wanted to be a conductorette she was going to do everything she can to be one. In the story it stated "I would go to work on the streetcars and wear a blue serge suit. Mother gave me support...'Give it everything you got...'" However, to get the job she had to face many challenges of people telling her otherwise. To support this, the story states "The incident was a recurring dream, concocted years before by stupid whites and it eternally came back to haunt us all. The secretary and I wee like Hamlet and Laertes in the final scene..." As a mother, Maya's mom was there to tell her that she should follow her dreams but she also wanted the best for her daughter. In the story it states, "How could she have the time to think about academic career." I feel that you can do anything if you try, but people will try to stop you or try to get you to do something better is the truth that Maya tried to teach us in this nonfiction narrative.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach us many lessons in her story, "Occupation Conductorette." One of the most prevalent of these is not to give up on your dreams. In the beginning of the story Angelou struggled on making her dreams come true. One obstacle she faced was getting her mom to let her take time off from school to become a conductor. This proves to be a challenge because her mom doesn't want her to leave school. Maya's mom wants her to stay and school and get a degree to get a good job, but that isn't what Maya wants. Another obstacle Maya faces is getting the conductor job itself. When she arrives at the Railroad Company to apply for her dream job. Unfortunately, Maya lived in a time where she was discriminated because of the color of her skin, because of this the clerk was very rude to her and denied her an application. Maya, however, didn't give up on her dream, she was calm and gave the woman respect and was able to get the application. A third example of Maya not giving up on her dream is when she actually got the job, but then was given her hours. Thinking less of her because of her skin, her boss had given her terrible hours, some early morning, other very late at night. Even with these poor hours Maya didn't give up, she took the challenge, and she kept with her dream job. What I believe Maya Angelou tried to teach us is that with a little determination and perseverance you can make your dreams come true.

Maya Angelou wanted to teach many things with this story. One of those things is that you can succeed as long as you keep trying. You don't have to be special, and people everywhere can accomplish anything. At first, she had to convincer her Mom, but she supported her decision to do what she wanted. Afterwards, she had to face against the clerk, denying her the right to do what she wanted. A big problem she must've been faced was herself. She had to believe in herself, and continue to do so, even when people are putting her down. She was strong to fight though that and get what she wanted. Segregation was a huge issue, and she had to fight through it. Even when faced with the difficulties, like the schedule, she pushed through and made it to the end.
